Customizing the SR9c
Out of the box, the Ruger SR9c is ready to go. It is accurate, functional and a person could go their entire life without changing a thing. However, if you are the sort of person who likes more than just stock performance and knows that most any manufactured item can be improved on and customized, then the SR9c is a great pistol for you. It’s a terrific gun to customized, much like a firearm version of a Ford Mustang or Jeep Cherokee.
When I get a new handgun, the first 3 things I accessorize are the grips, the sights, and the holster. Most factory grips are not a good fit for me, and I know plenty of other people feel the same way. Even minor customization there can make a huge difference.
Handguns’ factory sights, needless to say, are often subpar, and with so many great and relatively inexpensive options out there–tritium, fiber optic, tritium with fiber optic–it’s a no-brainer to replace them.

Had & SR9c 6+ years now. Overall I really like it. Carries well & shoots well & I don’t have to worry much about RUST (rain, snow or sweat)! Yea on the IWB holster. Not so much on your ‘Do-Dad’ Truglo sights or Laser ‘jigi’. As a ‘Reloader Addict’ myself, this gun has a ‘mini’ firing pin & spring spring design (lending to light primer strikes). Clean & inspect the firing pin & spring frequently & use oil ‘very sparingly’. A slightly stronger spring is recommended or at-least a factory replacement occasionally would help. Use softer (non-chromed) primers when reloading for it (I like Win. WSP), NO CCI 500 s. This is NO Beretta 92 which has a strong firing pin/spring syst. (I have one).
