Whether you are a fan of wearing shooting gloves or you’ve never considered adding them to your gear, it’s important that you make the best purchasing decision for your needs. Wearing shooting gloves is truly a matter of personal preference. Just as there are some who would definitely never consider wearing them while handling a firearm, there are those who don’t hit the range or go hunting without a pair on hand at all times.

There are a number of considerations before you purchase your shooting gloves, so that you can be sure that you are buying the best shooting gloves for you, for your budget, and for the way that you shoot. The size of gloves is important, as you want a pair that fit well. Working with live rounds is not the time to have gloves that slip and slide all over your hands.

Consider whether you are purchasing gloves because shooting high caliber weapons tends to leave your hands feeling a bit bruised after a bit of time. Experts agree that the gloves will do little to remedy this discomfort, and in fact you’d best benefit from spending more time on the range with your firearm. You can certainly wear a pair of quality gloves to help ease the discomfort, but more time with your weapon of choice is going to be the better option to truly give you the comfort you need.

Mechanix Wear Original Glove

Mechanix has reputation for producing quality gloves that suit a range of needs, so it comes as no surprise that they have top quality shooting gloves in their product lineup. The Original Gloves boast a breathable palm that is as supple as it is durable, while providing the grip that you need when handling your firearm.

One of the concerns about wearing gloves relates to a loss of mobility while handling a weapon, but with Lycra panels between the fingers, you’ll find there is little to no loss of mobility as you go about handling and using your firearm.

The dual-layered fingertips offers increased protection during wear, and will also help to reduce wear and tear even with extensive use. Some gun gloves are not ideal for use around heat, but the layered fingertips of these gloves will offer you superior protection.

Offered in a selection of colors and sizes to fit with your needs, and lightweight at just 3.5oz, you’ll appreciate the ultra-thin closure that not only assures you of a comfortable fit, but also one that is adjustable for your needs. These are among the best shooting gloves you can buy.

Specialist All Weather Shooting Gloves HG003

Hatch gloves are amongst the top used by law enforcement around the globe. The Specialist All-Weather Shooting Gloves have been designed with durable neoprene, and synthetic leather palms. This assures you of a comfortable, durable pair of gloves that look as good as they are practical for everyday use.

The fingertips and palm of the glove are non-slip thanks to the use of Toughtek materials. This will give you that added confidence needed when handling your handgun. The index finger of the gloves does not have the non-slip material, as these gloves are specifically designed for use with handguns

The closure of the gloves makes use of Velcro, which gives you the ability to get just the right fit for your hands. And of course will help to keep the cold out when used on damp winter days. These gloves are truly suitable for all weather conditions, and are sure to fast be your go-to for when nature would otherwise make things uncomfortable and damp. Dry warms hands are always preferable when handling firearms, and the best shooting gloves ensure your “hands” stay dry.

5.11 Tactical Station Grip Glove

The multi-functional Grip Glove from Tactical Station does not impede your mobility or dexterity, while still assuring you of a comfortable fit. The back panel of the gloves is made with a knit material that stretches with each movement your hands make, which will give you that freedom in movement that you are looking for.

The fingers and palm of the gloves are reinforced to give you the protection that is needed, no matter what you are doing when wearing the gloves. You’ll get the protection that you need, without impacting your movement. Padded knuckles will also provide protection.

The gloves are not insulated, so they are not ideal for high heat or cold situations. However, the Grip Glove does live up to its name, by offering superior grip when you need it most. There is however the potential for limited finger room, depending on the trigger guard. Those using full-sized handguns will generally not have too much of a concern with them, however.

The stretch cuff boasts Velcro closures so that you can get the right fit for your hands. A neat feature of these gloves is the attached ID tag so your gloves area always returned to you. Washable and fast-drying, the Grip Glove is among the best shooting gloves for the money.

Muyankissu Military Half-finger Fingerless Tactical Gloves

Not all who wear shooting gloves opt for full gloves. There are definitely some who prefer fingerless gloves, and there are of course some valid reasons for preferring fingerless gloves. The half-finger military gloves from Muyankissu are a good option for those who do prefer fingerless, and can also serve as a good pair of backup gloves to keep with the rest of your gear.

Designed using high-quality leather that has been treated to ensure your comfort during wear, these gloves are as durable as they reliable.

It should go without saying that these gloves are not going to be your best choice for picking up hot spent casings, and in general they are not that well insulated. 1. I am 5′ 8″, weigh around 148-153 lbs. The guns I’ve shot since I was much younger. with much more recoil than I now possess at age 78. I can no longer shoot the .45 ACP 1911, the 10 MM, .44 Magnum short barrel and more with one hand. Will a really good (expensive?) shooting glove do me any good as far as keeping my shots more in line with someone with 40 years of experience, rather than a new to the game shooter?

Yes…….I TRULY understand the vagaries of my advanced years, b**u**t…shouldn’t I be able to keep shooting without being a joke at the range?….

    • Maybe. You can try them out and return them if they don’t work for you. Thanks for your comment.
